When I think of ghosts a combination of the ghosts in the Disney short Lonesome Ghosts and Big Boo from Super Mario Bros comes to mind. That was the inspiration for this ghost C2C crochet pattern and I am so happy with the final look!
Each square was made using the corner to corner (C2C) crochet technique. In this technique, you’re crocheting in a diagonal direction – from corner to corner – and using double crochet stitches throughout. It’s really fun and a bit addictive when you get the hang of it!
I used worsted weight (4) acrylic yarn and a size 4.00mm/G-6 hook to crochet this ghost C2C crochet square but you can try making it with finer or thicker yarn for a smaller or bigger size square. Just be sure to use the appropriate size hook as well.
The finished size for each of my squares turned out to be 17.5” wide x 15.5” tall.
There are a few things you could do with these squares. Here are a few ideas:
- Join them to make a lap blanket
- Hang them as wall art
- Join 2 squares to make a pillow cover
- Use a finer yarn and smaller hook to make placemats or mug rugs
You can purchase inexpensive and ad-free PDF version of the pattern so you can print it and have it handy as you work. The pattern can be purchased in my Etsy shop individually or as part of a crochet pattern bundle.
