Shroom Shrug Crochet Pattern + Video

I'm thrilled to finally unveil the enchanting creation that has been in the works – the Shroom Shrug! It's been a delightful journey from the very first mushroom applique to this cozy, whimsical garment. If you've been following my recent blog posts, you already know that we've explored the fascinating world of mushroom-themed crochet, and the Shroom Shrug is the grand finale of this magical adventure.

The Mushroom Appliques: A Recap

Before we dive into the cozy embrace of the Shroom Shrug, let's revisit the adorable mushroom appliques that set the stage for this forest-inspired masterpiece.

  • The Fly Agaric Applique: Our journey began with the iconic Fly Agaric, also known as the toadstool. Its vibrant red cap with white spots is a symbol of whimsy and wonder. πŸ„

  • The Boletus Applique: Next up was the Boletus mushroom, also known as "porcini" or "cep." These mushrooms are cherished by foragers and gourmands for their rich flavor, adding a touch of culinary magic to our crochet collection. πŸ„

  • The Blewit Applique: The Blewit mushroom joined the party, adding its unique charm to our ensemble. Its delicate lavender hue and fascinating mycorrhizal associations with trees make it a standout in the world of fungi. πŸ„

The Shroom Shrug: A Cozy Forest Embrace

The Shroom Shrug is more than just a crochet project; it's a wearable work of art that allows you to embrace your inner forest spirit. Combining these mushroom-themed appliques, we've created a whimsical and cozy garment that's perfect for bringing a touch of nature-inspired beauty into your life.

Made with love and the finest yarn, this shrug is as comfortable as it is charming. The softness of Hobbii Friends Mercerized Cotton yarn gives the Shroom Shrug an elegant drape and a flexible feel. It's a garment that's perfect for staying cozy during those chilly evenings or simply adding a touch of woodland enchantment to your outfit.

Crochet Shroom Shrug

The shrug is made up of filet crochet squares that are sewn together to form a loose-fitting shrug or sweater sleeves. The mushroom appliques are sewn on before joining the sleeve underseams.

The number of squares you make will depend on how long or short you want the sleeves to be. I made 36 full squares in total and 2 shoulder squares.
