Halloween Spiral Coasters Crochet Pattern

It's been a while since I made coasters and it's about time I replaced some of the more worn out coasters I've made over the years. And since it's October I thought it would be fun to make a spooky Halloween spiral coasters crochet pattern.

I love the combination of black, white, and lime green (very sandworm like) and a spiral is a great way to get a trippy and creepy vibe. The best part is these coasters work up so quickly you can make these as last minute Halloween decor!

Pattern Notes

When working on this Halloween spiral coasters crochet pattern you're going to have two working loops going at the same time. It's important to use stitch markers so you can see when each color starts/ends.

Before you begin, decide which color will be in the very center (in this pattern we're starting with white as the first color). Work in continuous rounds, do not turn or join at the end of each round.

Pattern

Round 1: Starting with White. In magic ring ch 1 (does not count as a stitch) sc, hdc, 4 dc, pull working loop up and remove hook. Join Black, ch 1 (does not count as a stitch) sc, hdc, 4 dc, pull working loop up and remove hook. Tighten the magic ring by tugging on both yarn tails.

Round 2: With White dc inc in each st until you reach Black, place marker on the last worked stitch so you know this is where White ends. With Black dc inc in each st until you reach White, place marker on the last worked stitch.

Round 3: With White [dc inc in first st, dc in next st] repeat until you reach Black. With Black [dc inc in first st, dc in next st] repeat until you reach White.

Round 4: With White [dc inc in first st, dc in next 2 sts] repeat until you reach Black. With Black [dc inc in first st, dc in next 2 sts] repeat until you reach White.

If you want to make your spiral larger you can continue increasing in each round or you can move on to Round 5 to finish.

Round 5: For each color dc in next 2 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next st. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Round 6: Join green yarn in the last sl st worked from either color, ch 1 (does not count as a stitch) [sc, sk 1 st, 5 dc in next st, sk 1 st] repeat the sequence around to the end, sl st to join. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Your Halloween spiral coasters are now ready to protect your furniture and add spooky decor!
