Amigurumi Peg Board

Ever wondered what to do with your growing army of amigurumi? 🤔 These charming crocheted creatures are too adorable to keep hidden away, and I had a burst of inspiration to put them in the spotlight!

For a while, I thought about how to display them in a way that's creative, lightweight, and easily interchangeable. Nails and hooks seemed too permanent. I also wanted to use things I already had on hand. That’s when the "aha" moment struck!

Here's the secret sauce: bamboo skewers, sticky tack, and, of course, your delightful amigurumi.

By attaching bamboo skewers to the back of my pegboard wall and gracefully sliding my lightweight amigurumi creations onto them, I achieved a magical wall of crochet art. The best part? Most of the weight is on the pegboard itself, and the skewers provide back support.

Here’s how I made this amigurumi peg board possible:

  1. I started by selecting some of my favorite amigurumi and made sure they were lightweight.

  2. Since not all amigurumi are the same size, I cut the skewers at different lengths.

  3. Sticky tack is great and holds up well but the key is to warm it up first so I spent a good few minutes “kneading the dough” to a nice flexible consistency.

  4. I sat the amigurumi on the peg board making sure to leave a tiny bit hanging off the back.

  5. I then carefully inserted the skewer into the amigurumi part that was off the edge, not through the center of the amigurumi otherwise it wouldn’t be sitting on the peg board.

  6. Once in position, I took the softened and pliable tack and firmly pressed it over the skewer and back of the board.

I'm absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. It's like my very own crochet wonderland! 🧶✨

So, what do you think of this amigurumi display idea? Have you tried any unique methods to showcase your crochet creations? I'm all ears for your crafty suggestions.
